ARTIST: Chikanobu.
FORMAT: Triptych. (14” x 28.5”).
SERIES: Ladies of the inner halls of the palace.
DATE: 1895 - 1896.
DESCRIPTION: Tea ceremony. A lady in coat is greeted by the hostess on the ceremony, two young ladies already seated to be called into the tea house.
PUBLISHER: Fukuda Hatsujiro.
CONDITION: Vertical centre fold to left sheet with re-enforcing strip verso. Left sheet trimmed, minor marks and flaws but generally fair impression with fresh colour.

Subject: Three elegant Meiji bijin receiving an important lady visitor in a formal Japanese garden.

Publisher: Akiyama Buemon

Date: 1893

Condition: Very good colors. Virtually full size. Creases. Two left-hand panels joined by a strip of Japanese paper. Overall light wear. Minor marks and flaws. Generally moderately good state of preservation.
