| Notes (this edition) These notes were written by the original owner/seller/auctioner of the item and may be inaccurate.: | This beautiful 20th Century Japanese woodcut print is 1 out of a collection of 15 postcard prints by Kawase Hasui that I am currently offering on eBay. These beautiful prints are in pristine condition and look as though they have not seen the light of day since they were purchased! They were all published by Watanabe before 1936. All are approximately 4 x 6 inches and in excellent condition. They came out of a lovely Florida estate that had many other fine Japanese objects. |
Kawase- Boat and Seaside - Postcard- 1.jpg is: Mt. Fuji in twilight by Kawase Hasui. Original woodblock print. Not previously cataloged?? 6.6 x 4.3 inches. Very good condition. Strong ink bleedthrough on thin washi. Nice clear Hasui seal in lower corner. |
This Japanese woodblock print was a Christmas Gift to my father in December 1938. Its in the original frame and backing with a stamp date on the back which says: MORRIS STUDIO - PARSONS KANSAS DEC 22,1938. The frame size is 5 3/4" by 8 1/2". The print size is 4" by 6". The print has some blue ink on the right side top of print and at the bottom right side, see the photo. |
