Later edition ORIGINAL. Condition Pristine. Never laid down. No folds, no tears, no creases, no foxing.

Look at the pink of the sunset on Mt. Fuji, while the lowlands settle into darkness. This print is delicate yet bold. A true study in contrasts. Good bleedthrough (see scan). Our scan does not capture the true beauty of this piece. Complete with artist's signature and seal and authenticated by Watanabe seal.

This print was created by Takahashi Shotei (also known as Hiroaki or Komei) (1871-1945). Here is “Mount Fuji from Mizukubo, Evening Scene”, one of great prints published and printed by Watanabe in 1936 (I'm offering later edition, 1950's/60's printing (no 6mm/7mm seal observed). Print has Shotei red seal on the left side inside the image. Signed Takahachi Hiroaki. Oban format (15 1/2” x 10 1/4”). It’s one of the best designs of the artist. Fine impression, excellent color, bleedthrough and registration. Very good condition. The print not backed.

Beautiful Japanese Woodblock Print . SHOTEI . "Fuji from Mizukubo" . 6mm Seal lower right . Excellent Condition. Size 9 1/4" high x 14 1/2" wide.
This fantastic Japanese woodblock print is by the important Shin Hanga artist Takahashi Shotei. It depicts a beautiful town scene with the majestic Mt. Fuji in the background. Excellent condition and approximately inches.

We do not know anything about Japanese Art so maybe you can make out the artist(see photo). Guaranteed to be hand pressed original block print. This is not glued down. It has been re-framed and matted, but is in the original frame (14 3/4" x 20 3/4")….the gallery sticker has been preserved. This has a real mood to it. A Japanese woodblock print by Takahashi Shotei (1871-1945) also known as Takahashi Hiroaki. This print is Mt. Fuji from near Tamaho, published by Watanabe, C. 1936, 15 3/4 " x 10 1/4" . At the top of the print, on the back side, there is tape at the top edge (this was matted and framed when new and removed from the frame about 50 years ago and placed in a folder with other prints). Great bleed thru and a rare print !!
