You are bidding on a very beautiful and rare Japanese woodblock print signed by the famous Shin-Hanga woodblock print artist Hasui Kawase (1883-1957) and made in the Showa Era in EXCELLENT CONDITION. The artist’s signature and his chop mark are at the lower right corner of the print. Four borders are intact. The title of this woodblock print is in the lower right border. The size of this woodblock print is 15 1/4 x 10 1/4 inches. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers. This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding through can be seen at the back of the print’s Japanese mulberry Washi paper. All four borders are intact.
Landscape masterpiece by Kawase Hasui. "Mt. Unzen in Hizen Province" Genuine Woodblock Print. This is one of a handful of rare prints produced by the Bijutsusha printing company. The only print with the the Hasui seal printed in the unusual color yellow. 10.25 x 15.25 inches. Very Fine condition and color, Beautiful printing, beautiful bleedthrough. No tears or toning. Never before framed.
