The design with heavily loaded freight sampans tied up for the evening, a pair of boats on the water with passengers. This print was included in the groundbreaking 1936 Shin-hanga show at the Toledo Museum of Art. Signed- Kawase Hasui with red artist’s seal “sui” Sealed- Publisher Watanabe, 7mm seal, later edition original, from original blocks Image size- 9 ½” x 14 3/8” (oban tate-e) Condition- Excellent, no toning, tears, not mounted, full margin |

Strong ink penetration on fine Hosho Washi. 7mm Watanabe seal in lower left of image. Red Heisei era Watanabe seal in right margin. |
