Antique original woodblock print.

This print picturing Aoto Fujitsuna ????, a councilor of the Kamakura Shogunate (1192-1333), directing the search for a few coins he has lost in the Namerigawa River.

First edition prints feature a patterned border in a variety of colors, while the 1902 edition has plain paper borders. A fascinating series and a great choice for a collector interested in life in late 19th century Japan.

Publishing date : December 1885.

Excellent color, impression and details. There are stains on the reverse side.

Impression: Fine impression of the first edition with gauffrage and mica.
