Condition "Pristine"-never laid down-full margins-no tears, no folds, no creases, no foxing, no stains-PERFECT! Good bleedthrough on verso (see scan). Complete with HASUI signature and Sui and Watanabe cartouche (see scans).
Colors are vibrant and striking. One of the most beautiful HASUI prints I have ever seen. Our scan does not capture the beauty of this magnificent print. Scan shows slight discoloration on margins..this DOES NOT appear on the actual print!

Evening at the Kintaibashi in Spring, 1947 Kawase Hasui (1883 – 1957)
This wonderful spring cherry blossom scene at the Kintaibashi is one of Hasui’s best. The beautiful blossoms in full bloom dominate the foreground in a design reminiscent of Hiroshige. A single boatman passes under the traditional old bridge.

This wonderful woodblock print by Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) measures approximately 10 ¼” by 15 ¼” and is titled “Kintai Sashi Bridge in Spring Evening Yamaguchi”. This is a good impression with wonderful color. In overall good condition, there are raged edges to the top and side and a glue residue around the border from a previous matting. There are no tears or holes. |
