Japanese Wood Block Print Squirrel 1949 First Printing. A beautiful Japanese wood block print, the subject a Squirrel in a Pine tree, wonderful detail. Signed by the artist in Japanese and English, see picture, and with a publishers seal, also under the matt signed with further Japanese characters and printed “FIRST - PRINTING 1949” The actual print measures 15 ½ x 10 ¾ inches. Matt 18 x 12 5/8 inches. The print is adhered to the matt with tape

Condition: Overall Very good! Has the original mat and is mounted on the left side egde.
Squirrel on a Pine Tree Branch by Bakufu Ohno. Original woodblock print. Oban size measures 15.4 x 10.5 inches. Very good condition. A little thin washi in top and bottom margin. Good texture and ink bleedthrough. Kyoto Hanga publisher's seal and printer's seal in left margin.
Size: 26 x 39 cm. (10.2" x 15.3")

Signature: B.Ohno + seal

Condition: Slightly soiled, and a very little creased, otherwise good
A viewer emailed me and said this is by Bakufu Ohno and if you search the internet for data you will see that like Asano , he is also from Kyoto and well regarded. Sometimes listed under "Ono". Unframed but has a paper cover that opens. Attached to the back at the upper and lower corners of the left side. 11-1/4 x 16". EX condition except for some ink on bottom RH corner below red seal.

oban tata-e (14¼" x 9½").
Signed "Bakufu" and "B. Ohno" with red Bakufu and Shingawa seals;
published by Shinagawa at Kyoto Hanga-in (1951).
Condition: good; very slight toning; tipped to presentation folio which is slightly stained (not affecting print).
