A viewer emailed me and said this is by Bakufu Ohno and if you search the internet for data you will see that like Asano , he is also from Kyoto and well regarded. Sometimes listed under "Ono". Unframed but has a paper cover that opens. Attached to the back at the upper and lower corners of the left side. 11-1/4 x 16". EX condition except for some ink on bottom RH corner below red seal. |
Ono BAKUFU (1888-1976; Japanese) Squirrel in a pine tree; oban tata-e (14¼" x 9½"). Signed "Bakufu" and "B. Ohno" with red Bakufu and Shingawa seals; published by Shinagawa at Kyoto Hanga-in (1951). Condition: good; very slight toning; tipped to presentation folio which is slightly stained (not affecting print). |
