Horyuji Temple, Nara, 1956
Kawase Hasui (1883 – 1957)

This wonderful sun bathed image of the Horyuji Temple at Nara is a collector’s favorite. Hasui pulls the viewer into this scene- up the stone path to the lovely temple buildings, one can sense the peaceful respite of this special place.

Signed- Kawase Hasui with red artist’s seal “sui”
Sealed- Publisher Watanabe, 7mm seal, later edition original, from original blocks
Image size- 9 ˝” x 14 3/8” (oban tate-e)
Condition- Excellent, no toning, tears, not mounted, full margins
