For auction is this old Japanese woodblock print by Tsuchiya Koitsu, measuring 11.5" tall by 8" wide. Im not sure if it is a first edition, but I was told that it is because of the publisher information, signature and watermark at the upper left. I myself am not an expert on Koitsu - I leave it up to the Ebay world, but it is an old print. The print is titled in Japanese and features the five storied pagoda at Nikko. It is signed Koitsu and with a seal, published by Doi Hanga Ten, carved by Harada and printed by Yokoi. It is not dated
The print has overall browning from a bad old mat it was stuck on while it was framed. This makes the print a bit darker than it should be and there are spots where it didn’t discolor as badly, so it has some spotting. It has a very very small tear at the bottom a couple of millimeters long - I just mention it to be completely thorough. Not trimmed at all either. The reverse top shows where tape was removed from the print.

It is a pleasure to offer this wonderful woodblock print by master Shin Hanga artist Tsuchiya Koitsu. This print is in wonderful condition. It measures 8 1/16 inches by 11 1/4 inches It was removed from the original mount in order to take pictures. The mountin consisted of gluing of the corners which were removed with ease and did not harm the print. There is no foxing or acid damage. No creases or tears. This print posses the publisher Doi Hangaten offset seals used in the early 1950s (possibly late 1940s) to early 1960s. The printer is Yokoi and the carver Harada. The watermark seal is also visible in the upper left hand corner. The print is 100% genuine and original.
