Subject: A young bijin in a garden cutting Chrysanthemums with a pair of scissors turns to talk to a man stringing a biwa.

Date: c. 1850

Condition: Very slightly trimmed. Album backing paper. Minor soils, marks and flaws. Generally very good state.

Colour: Fine colors.

Impression: Fine impression with gauffrage and burnishing.
ARTIST: Kunisada.
FORMAT: Chuban (10 by 7 ins)
SERIES: Ima Genji Nishiki E Awase (The Story of Genji)
DATE: ca. 1850.
DESCRIPTION: Yadorigi; Genji tuning a Koto instrument and his lover cutting flowers in the garden.
