Subject: Number five from the series Murasaki Shikibu Genji Karuta - Chapters of The Tale of Genji by Lady Murasaki Shikibu.

The Tale of Genji (Genji Monogatari) was written around 1000-1025 during the Heian Period. The name of Murasaki Shikibu was that used for a court lady with "Murasaki" being a given name while "Shikibu" refers to her father's position at the court. Beside writing The Tale of Genji, Murasaki is also reknown for her other famous book, The Diary of Murasaki Shikibu.

Condition: Full size with unusally large margins. One small wormhole and tiny pinholes. Two binding holes in right margin. Minor creases, marks and flaws. Generally very good state.
