Artist: Yoshitoshi
Format: Oban tate-e: 14.25" x 9.75"

Subject: A young girl of the Meiji Period (1868-1912). A musume ('young woman') biting her sleeve.

Publisher: Tsunashima Kamekichi

Date: 11/1888

Condition: Fine colors. Slightly trimmed in margins. Album backing paper. Slight soils and stains. Album foldmark along left edge with tiny paper losses. Some light offsetting. Minor marks and flaws. Fairly good state.

Impression: Fine impression of the first edition with gauffrage and burnishing. Three color title cartouche.

Subject: Fusoku Sanjuniso - The 32 Aspects of Women. A young girl of the Meiji period - a musume biting her kimono sleeve.

Publisher: Tsunashima Kamekichi

Date: 4.10.1888

Condition: Completely full size with margins. Light vertical crease. Minor stains, marks and flaws. Generally fine state.

Colour: Fine colours

Impression: Superb of the 1st edition with use of lacquer and burnishing. Three colour title cartouche.

Hazukashiso (Shy) from the series Fuzoku Sanjuni So (Thirty-two Aspects of Women) by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi. Genuine woodblock print dated 1888. Later Showa era impression. Fine condition. Oban size measures 15.9 x 10.8 inches. Strong ink bleed through. One of Yoshitoshi's best bijin scenes. Nice lacquer printing on kimono.
