Artist: Hiroshige I
Format: Oban tate-e: 14" x 9.75"

Subject: The ferry port of Shichiri. A group of seven people standing near a large red-brown torii built on the quay-side overlooking the harbour, which is protected by a spit of land running out from either side; junks sailing in and others at anchor by the quay-side. Deep indigo sky on the horizon betokening nightfall, graded to white and then dark blue at top. One of the masterpieces of this fine set.

Condition: Very fine colors without the usual oxidation of the orange block. Full size. Japanese album backing paper. A pinhole in left margin. Generally perfect state of preservation.

Impression: Very fine impression of the first edition with very strong woodgrain visible in the background.
