Notes (1st edition)36 Views of Mount Fuji: #8 Artist: Hokusai Format: Oban yoko-e: 9.75" x 14.5" approx Subject: From Hokusai's legendary series Fugaku Sanjurokei. He depicts here the famous Pine tree in the garden of Ryuganji, the Zen Temple built at Harajuku. A group of visitors chatting at a picnic in the foreground. In the corner a man points out the view of Fuji san rising through the mist to a small boy. The pine copse at Ryuganji was a famous vantage point to view Fuji in all its majesty.

Condition: Slightly trimmed at base. A small repaired wormhole top left. Unobtrusive vertical centerfold. Minor marks and flaws. Generally good state.
