A rare Kawase Hasui Woodblock print. This comes from a family who travel and stay in Japan many times during the 1940's. This Woodblock is from a series that the Mitsu-bishi Co commissioned for client gifts, it portrays company founder Iwasaki Yataro's villa and gardens, now a public park. The Woodblock is in very nice condition, no foxing, staining, or tears, colors are bright. It has been stored away for many years. It comes in the original folder . The outside of the folder has a title that says "2. Azaleas of the garden along the lucid Lake Hakone viewed from a bower." There also is the original insert page telling about the "Wonderful Garden" of Hotel De Yama" (see picture) It measures 10 1/2' by 15".
