This is a very rare and early shin hanga Japanese woodblock print by Miki Suizan (1887-1957) titled "Cherry Blossoms at Mimuro", dated 1924, from the series of Kyoto Subjects. The print was carved by Maeda Kentaro, printed by Oiwa Tokuzo, and published by Sato Shotaro. The print bears the small oval Sato Shotaro seal on the verso. This is a first edition print, the edition was 200 (Guide to Modern Japanese Woodblock Prints:1900-1975, by Helen Merritt and Nanako Yamada.
The print is in excellent condition. Excellent impression, color, bleedthrough and registration. No foxing, toning, folds or creases. The print is not trimmed or setdown. Print size is 11" x 16".
