DATE: 1889.
SERIES: Azuma Fuzoku Huku Tsukushi; (Good Fortunes and varieties of Huku in Eastern Customs).
DESCRIPTION: Seven Deities.
PUBLISHER: Takegawa Unokichi.
CONDITION: Left and lower margins trimmed, an area of thinning, minor surface soiling, otherwise good impression, colour and condition.
This is a fabulous antique Japanese Meiji period original color woodblock print by acclaimed artist Yoshu CHIKANOBU (Japanese, 1838-1912), dated 1890. It is signed by the artist on the front lower left and is in excellent condition. It measures 10" x 14 ½" (sheet), 9" x 13" (image) and is beautifully matted and framed in its original silk mat and gold leafed frame for a total size of 16" x 21".
