Subject: 'Tea Making', bust portrait of a newly wed bijin with fashionably blackened teeth, her coiffure pierced by many elaborate pins unrolls a scroll. One of Kunisada's finest late bijin series.

Date: c. 1860

Condition: Fine colors with slight migration of red. Horizontal crease mark and other crease marks. Album binding holes along right edge. Slightly trimmed, rubbed and soiled. A tape stain in cartouche. Corners slightly rounded. Generally moderately good state.

Impression: Very fine impression printed on heavy De Luxe paper with gauffrage and strong woodgrain visible in the background.
