Print size 15.5" x 7.5"

(Mitsugiri size)

Post-War Strike ORIGINAL

Pristine gallery condition. Full margins; never laid down no tears, folds, creases or foxing. This print is perfect in every way.

Good bleedthrough to verso. Complete with HASUI signature and sui (see scan). Authenticated by Doi Hangaten's rectangular publisher's seal and double off-set carver/printer seal.
The workmanship in this stunning print is exquisite in every way. This crisp winter scene at Funabori is an outstanding example of Master HASUI's mastery of the Shin Hanga art form.

Note from Ross: A good example of the dishonesty that lurks within this field of art. Note the fake Watanabe seal in the lower left margin, and remember that this scene was published by Doi Sadaichi, not Watanabe. Because many examples of Doi prints exist without the Doi publisher seals, some fool has forged the pre-war Watanabe seal to try to sell this 1960s/70s strike at top dollar.

This is a beautiful Japanese woodblock print measuring 8” by 15 ½” and is by Hasui Kawase. The print of a man in a boat with snow covering the landscape is in good condition; there is some minor wrinkling near the bottom and the top is tipped down. You are bidding on the print only; I do have the frame and glass which you can have, the choice is yours; the size of the frame is 14” by 19 ¾”.
