This is a genuine woodblock not an art reproduction, titled "Kashiwara Shrine" by Koitsu. Oban size(10.4X 15.6) Dated 1939(showa 14)This is a very early production. I bought this from a seller in Japan. I was told by the seller that the writing on the cover page is written right to left. This would indicate that it was pre-War (before1945). The print is mounted in a presentation folder with a tissue cover. The tissue cover has a substantial tear clearly visible. Other wise this is a beautiful print. There is also a 'mat' cover which is shown lifted in one of the pictures. The bright colors are evident and Bokashi in the trees is strong. This is one of Koitsu nicest woodblocks.
Koitsu's Kashiwara-Shrine
Size 10.4 x 15.6 inch Oban-size
This item was made in Showa 14 (1939).
It is an original wood-block print.
In order to unite the Japanese heart, this was made from national cooperation.
Therefore, there is no publication of a publishing company in this.

The surface is pasted on the cover when this wood-block print is put on the market.
The title currently printed by the cover is written to the right from the left. This is the proof put on the market before Showa 20 (1945).
Japanese is because it came to be written to the left from the right in 1945 and afterwards.

This wood-block print item is printed by handmade business by BAREN.
Paints are oozing on the reverse side of paper. There are marks rubbed by BAREN.
Koitsu-Kashiwara Shrine- 2.jpg is:

This is a gorgeous woodblock print by noted shin hanga printmaker Tsuchiya Koitsu. Excellent color and impression. It measures about 9 3/4 x 14 1/4 plus margins. Never framed, excellent condition. There is a very small amount of mounting residue in the upper reverse margin, where the print was held to its original presentation folder, no longer present. Many of Koitsu's prints were published by Doi or Watanabe; this one, I believe, was published by Isetatsu. It would therefore be an early printing, as Isetatsu has been out of business since just after WWII.

Koitsu-Kashiwara Shrine- 1.jpg is:

This print is by one of the best of the shin hanga artists, Tsuchiya Koitsu. The image represents the ancient Kashiwara Shrine in Nara, said to have been first established 2600 years ago. The print captures the hallowed, somewhat forbidden atmosphere of the Japanese shrine, the main gate and offering box seen beyond pines, the main shrine in the back behind the woodden fence. The mountains in the background are a shade of purple. The print measures 10 1/4 x 15 1/4 inches and dates to the early-mid twentieth century. This is a genuine original woodblock print.
