This is a vintage japanese woodblock print. The print is unframed. It is in excellent condition with the exception of some very small light rust colored dots in a few places. There are no creases and the coloring is great. The print measures aprox. 15x10"
Beautiful 1st state woodblock print by Tsuchiya Koitsu, Snow at Miyajima, published in 1937. The print is in pristine condition and is oban size, approximately 10"x15". Fantastic colors with beautiful bokashi throughout.

Japanese woodblock print by Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949). Miyajima in Snow. Dated 1937, published by Doi Hangaten. Harada/Yokoi. I can’t guarantee a date (my knowledge of shin hanga is limited). Very slightly toned (second pic is worse than it is), one handling crease, a faint diagonal crease at the bottom R corner, small label stain bottom R reverse (doesn't go through), otherwise very good. 10 1/4” X 15 1/2”.

I inherited two Japanese woodblock prints from my mother, who received
them sometime in the 1960s from a friend who sent them from Saipan.
Thanks to your web site, I was able to identify the artists and print
titles as:

Takeji Asano
Snow at Nan-endo Temple, Nara

Tsuchiya Koitsu
Snow at Miyajima

I have removed the Koitsu print from the original frame to see the
printers marks. The marks are from the publisher Doi, but they are
slightly different from the images you provide on your Koitsu web site.
I have attached 3 jpegs showing the Koitsu print and the margin
markings. Do you recognize the marks? Can you give me an estimate the
date of publication?

Japanese woodblock print by Koitsu Tsuchiya (1870-1949) entitled “Snowy Miyajima.” Originally published in 1937; margin is dated “Showa 12.” Later Hama impression posthumously printed from Koitsu’s original blocks. These later editions are identical to the earlier editions except for the publisher’s seal. With their intense realism, Koitsu’s woodblock prints have immortalized his country’s scenic beauty. Subtle effects of light and shadow endow his scenic renderings with an aura of captivating beauty, making his prints highly prized among collectors. The workmanship in both carving and printing is very good. Skillfully executed changes of color shading ("bokashi") are seen throughout the print. Pristine condition, with excellent color and registration, and strong ink bleed through. Oban size image measures14 ¼” 9 ½”, plus full margins.
