Monday, 21 March 2005 TSUCHIYA KOITSU Snow on Sumida River Date: 1935, later edition published by Doi from the original blocks, with Harada-Seki carver/printer seals Size: approx. 10.5" x 15.5" Condition: Fine, in absolutely perfect condition Impression: Fine, with blind embossing (gauffrage) on the snow on the branches of the tree -- each snowflake is deeply impressed into the paper Color: Fine, gorgeous composition using mostly shades of blue and gray, excellent bleed through from deeply saturated color. An exceptional and rarely seen print by Koitsu. |
