Subject: Two key block proofs, on the left 'Great Lantern at Asakusa Temple', published in 1934, signed Koitsu, on the right 'Kameido Drum Bridge' published in 1933.

Date: c. 1933/4

Condition: Full size. Some soils. Minor foxing, marks and flaws. Generally very good state.

Colour: N/A

Impression: Fine impressions.
Unframed Japanese woodblock print by Tsuchiya Koitsu. Wonderful image of a very large lantern at a temple and probably dating from the 1930s. Beautiful shading to the colors. Untrimmed, good condition; some foxing and toning to the lower part of the print and a light crease at the right corner. 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches.



I know little about this print other then that it was in a collection of estate papers dating from the late 1890's to early 1930's. Print is in excellent condition
The Great Gate at Asakusa Temple by Tsuchiya Koitsu. Original woodblock print dated March Showa 9 (1934) in right margin. Doi Teiichi publisher's seal, Ikeda carver's seal and Ichikawa printer's seal in left margin. Title and date in right margin. Oban size measures 15.7 x 10.5 inches. Fair condition. Heavy mounting residue on verso. Tear into image in upper right corner. Faded as shown.

Condition Very good. Strong colors. Light toning; a few tiny/scattered spots (mostly bottom); thin tape residue verso corners (otherwise clean backside).
