This print is authentic, not restrike or reproduction. I guarantee it. This is an genuine original Japanese woodblock print by great shin-hanga artist Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) titled "Cold Morning at Nagaoka, Izu ". It’s extremely rare print, published by Watanabe in 1939. Some prints by Hasui offered now on ebay are later editions of much less quality (sometimes from recarved blocks). This one is the first prewar edition published by Watanabe, and bears appropriate publishers “C” seal on the bottom of right margin . Extremely rare preware edition, one from the best Hasui’s view of Fuji. Great impression, good color and registration. Signed by artist Hasui, has seal “Sui” in the image and titled in kanji at the right margin. Print has clean backside, just small residues of previous framing(see the pictures), a little worn, has several pinholes . Oban size 15 1/4" x 10 1/4".
