Early Hiroshi Yoshida 1926 original woodblock print "Yarigatake" from the rare "Twelve Scenes From The Japanese Alps" series. Print has full margins with good colors, impression and the artist signature and red seal. Print image measures 15" x 10" with one-character jizuri seal on the top left margin. Print has been framed but has no mat lines. There are small creases and some light stains but no toning. Two repairs can be seen on verso. Print looks very good with frame which is included.

A good unframed colour woodcut of mountaineers resting beneath a peak by Hiroshi Yoshida. I have played safe by dating this to post 1940, but it may in fact be earlier, judging by the condition of the backing board, to which the print is glued at the top right corner only.
There is light toning to the paper and some surface dirt (mainly in the top margin). There is some foxing in the image which I have tried to show in the photos.
Size: 14.5 x 9.75 inches (image); 17 x 11 (to sheet edges)
Think this is print of Yarigatake 1926
