92. Domoto Insho (1891-1975) The New Year’s toilette. A young woman holding up a hand-mirror adjusting the back of her traditional coiffure; part of New Year’s decorations is visible on the left. Signed Insho and artist’s seal Insho. First edition, with mica background, published by Baba Nobuhiko in Kyoto. With the original wrapper and attached label giving the date Showa 6 (1931). Subject: A young beauty adjusting her coiffure with a hair-pin as she examines herself in a hand-mirror. She is scantilly attired in a see-through silk wrap. Condition: Superb colors. Full size with large margins. Minor creasing in margins. A light horizontal crease mark. Generally fine state of preservation.
Impression: Very fine impression with heavy gauffrage, gold pigment and lacquer on the mirror
