Sapporo Nakajima - Yuuzuki (Evening Moon over Nakajima in Sapporo) by Kawase Hasui. Genuine woodblock print dated March 1933 (Showa 8). Later impression from original blocks. 7 mm Watanabe seal in lower left of Image. Heisei era Red Watanabe seal in left margin. Oban size measures 15.6 x 10.3 inches. Fine condition. Nice detail and ink penetration.

Kawase Hasui: Evening Moon at Nakonoshima, Sapporo 1933 First Edition

Woodblock Print. Oban Size: 39.5cm x 26.5cm

Very strong colours and impression: the woodgrain can be seen clearly in the sky. Compare with Hotei Book, page 437

Pinhole in upper left margin and evidence of very light glue remains to upper reverse margin where it was originaly tipped to presentation folder. Otherwise excellent condition.
