| Notes (this edition)?: |
The following information was taken from the original web listing of this artwork. Note that there may be some inaccuracies:
Listed as a lithograph, however, I suspect this is a woodblock print, not a lithograph, for several reasons: (1) lithographs are almost always printed on a special, thick, bleached-white paper medium with large margins and the paper maker's seal/name embossed into the paper. This print's paper appears to be washi paper used for woodblock printing (small margins, not bleached white, etc.). (2) I don't know of any other examples of a Tamami lithograph. (3) A close examination of the printing suggests typical woodblock printing and not lithography.
