A wonderful watercolour of a couple strolling amongst the cherry blossoms of Ueno Park.
Sometimes when I catch this painting out of the corner of my eye, it looks like the blossom petals are actually falling.
I think this painting inspired his highly prized print of the same scene:
The man's right knee is strikingly similar in both - I don't think the print and painting are very far apart in time.
The lady certainly cheered up when she got an umbrella too!
