The following information was taken from the original web listing of this artwork. Note that there may be some inaccuracies:

Yukio Katsuda serigraph print. This is a purple flower with leaves, looks like a morning glory I think, on greenish/blue background.

Print size is at least 7 1/2 “X 10” (edges of print are under matting). Is very nicely framed by Kanda’s BOQ out of Tokyo, framed in ’80, original owner, very well cared for.

Frame is 11 ¼” X 14 ½” X 1 ¼”. Frame is wood that has been stained olive green on front and on outside and is painted silver inside frame. Mat is ivory, with green (matching green in picture) bevel.

At bottom, in pencil, artist has numbered “37/100”. Also in pencil, “No. 111” and signature “Y. Katsuda ‘77”

Artist Bio: 

勝田哲は京都府に生まれた日本画家です。 東京美術学校西洋画科を卒業した後、日本画に転向。 京都市立絵画専門学校予科に入学し、山本春挙の主催する画塾早苗会に入ります。 第10回、第12回帝展で特選をとり、帝展で歴史画の「天草四郎」「征旅(ジャンヌ・ダルク)」がともに特選しました。 勝田は美人画にもすぐれました。 勝田哲の作品の数々は京都市左京区岡崎円勝寺町にある「京都市美術館」において見ることができます。1896年 7月8日京都生まれ。 1925年 山元春挙に入門。 1929年 「天草四郎」特選。 1930年 京都市立絵画専門学校(現京都市立芸大)卒業。 1931年 「征旅(ジャンヌ・ダルク)」特選。 1960年 初の日展審査員。 1961年 日展会員。 1980年 京都市文化功労者に選ばれた。84歳で没
