	Notes (first edition)?:	There are a total of three versions of this scene, each one with slightly different recarving: the original 1930s Haibara Fan Shop Series, the re-edition of this series in 1988 under the title "Twelve Scenes of Famous Places" (名所十二景), and another undated variant .

LAKE TOWADA from series the "Twelve Scenes of Famous Places". 1930s, date of this print is not known to me. Publisher Kato. This print or impression is variant to or different to available references or images of same. Including a a much lower signature and seal placement on print, larger "sheet" size, more subtle shading, color differences, darker tones and less apparent minor differences. . More research or expertise needed. Impression very good, colors good with subtle shading, overall state very good. See above for more information on condition and examine pictures, sized down net photo is a 1988 edition. Image shikishi, 23.8 x 24.9 cm (9.4 x 9.8 inches), sheet size 35.4 x 40 cm (13.9 x 15.7 inches). “soft folds, some creasing to thin line hosho washi paper, toning at verso that doe not show to front, otherwise very good condition overall, see photos.”
	Artist Bio:	川瀬 巴水。1883年（明治16年）5月18日 - 1957年（昭和32年）11月7 日）。大正・昭和期の浮世絵師、版画家。1918年 （大正7年）、風景画家として世に出る。以後、数多くの木版画を発表。 衰退した日本の浮世絵版画を復興すべく吉田博らとともに新しい浮世絵版画の叙情的世界に、自然に肉薄する近代人の視点を導入することにより、独自の世界を展開した。享年74歳。
