ANTIQUE 1930's
MT. FUJI - JAPAN
SIGNED by T. MASAMITSU
This beautiful Original Landscape Watercolor Painting is a view of Mt. Fuji in Japan. Masamitsu is a Japanese visual artist and is listed. Several works by the artist have been sold at auction. This painting was done in the 1930's and you can see a few faint lines from the underside of the back of the picture(not sure what that is). This was given to me recently from the estate of my father-in-law, and is one of several Fine Art pieces that I will be selling. This painting is in good to very good antique used condition and the original frame has a slight blemish on the top left corner, but is still in very good beautiful antique condition. The torn paper backing on the verso of the framing does not have an impact on the value or sale-ability of this painting. The framed picture measures 21-3/8" length x 15-1/4" width. The picture showing measures 19-1/4" length x 13-1/8" width. This framed picture is packaged extremely well in a 28" x 5" x 23" white reinforced picture box.
History of Ownership
This Original T. Masamitsu Painting was first acquired by my Aunt-in-law. She retired as a Captain of the U.S. Navy in 1971 after serving our country since 1943. She had acquired this painting during her worldly travels. She passed on in 1971 at the age of 50. She left her Fine Art etchings and paintings with her only sibling. He recently passed on a month ago at the age of 90. He was a WWII Air Force Mechanic and spent his life Farming alfalfa and raising a few cows in the High Desert of Southern California. Upon his passing, all was left to his adopted son. So I became elected to find a new home for this beautiful work of Art. |
