His specialty was kuchi-e prints and illustrations for books. We can feel the influence of the tradition in the print. Kuchi-e are woodblock-printed frontispiece illustrations produced for publication in Japanese novels and literary magazines at the turn-of-the-century (1895-1912). This print represents a standing beauty holding an umbrella.
