Original Pre-War JAPANESE WATERCOLOR - S. Niimi c.1930's - PARK GATE - Kanji- CHERRY BLOSSOM -Saburo Niimi
Exquisite pre-war circa 1930's original watercolor painting by Japanese artist S. Niimi. It is in excellent condition and measures 9" by 12.5." Depicting a tranquil park scene beside a lake with a Japanese gate {Kanji} and a figure walking beneath it......just gorgeous! Signed on the lower right in ink "S. Niimi" one of the finer Pre War Japanese Watercolor artists. Not much is know about him but his work is of very fine quality. These is a slight bent on the top edge and water stains on the reverse bottom that only slightly shows on the front. I purchased five vintage Japanese watercolors from a collector that are being listed separately. |
