Vintage Japanese Watercolor Painting

Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this vintage, unframed watercolor painting by the Japanese artist, S. Niimi. Please excuse the glare in the photos. The subject of this work on paper is a snowy winter landscape scene, with a house, trees, a river, and mountains. The paper measures approximately 9 3/8 inches by 13 1/16 inches. A white mat is included, with a sight area of approximately 8 inches by 10 inches; its outer dimensions are about 11 inches by 14 inches. This would make a great addition to a collection of vintage fine art.

Identification
The painting is signed at the lower left, "S. Niimi." Per the Ohmi Gallery, this Japanese artist (possibly Saburo Niimi), was active prior to World War II; S. Niimi painted in the western style.

Condition
The painting looks good. It is unframed. It was matted and framed at some point; there is a visible discoloration edge rind. There is one small, darker spot in the sky area. The edges of the paper have minor wear / very slight losses. The back side of the watercolor paper has some tape residue and discoloration. If you choose to use the included mat board, depending on how you position it, most or all of the discoloration rind will be hidden. Please review the photos, and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing.
