Very rare print with little doubt issued as a single edition. Title in the bottom margin "Rain in Ueno", dated mid-left margin, signed and sealed in the image area at lower left. "All rights reserved, Yokouchi Ginnosuke"in the bottom left margin corner.

Selling this very fine quality mid 20th century Japanese woodblock print.
Nicely detailed with a scene of a man in woman in traditional costume walking through a park at dusk. Included in the scene are a large illuminated lantern, tall flowering trees and a temple.
There are three sets of character marks on the margins of the woodblock.
Woodblock is framed and matted under glass and has not been examined out of the frame.
Note: Images may show some reflections on the glass.
Image size is approx. 15” x 9-1/2”.
Overall frame size approx. 22” x 16-1/2”.
Wood block appears to be in good condition. No stains or tears. Frame is wooden and with a painted silver surface that has a lot of thin scattered chipping to the paint. |
