Note that the seller attributes this painting to Kobayashi Kiyohiko, however the signature is that of scrolls attributed to Ishikawa Kiyohiko. It is possible that the current nine scrolls in this database by "Kiyohiko" can be separated into two groupings: Ishikawa and Kobayashi, or perhaps they are the same artist.

東京生まれ。凸版印刷の図案募集で入選したのをきっかけに鏑木清方に入門。伊藤深水にも学ぶ。昭和6(1931)年第12回帝展に逗子の別荘地を舞台とした「湘南初夏」が初入選。第13回帝展「真夏の港」には昭和初期の流行の最先端を行く風俗をテーマにモダンな作風を見せた。 昭和38(1963) 東京都出身

Kiyohiko was a student of the famous artist Kaburagi Kiyokata.
石川清彦は、愛知生まれで「鏑木清方・山川秀峰」の門。 旧美術協会会員で、多くの賞を受賞、得意は人物。高松宮家に御買上の栄誉を受ける。
