HIROSHIGE Ayase River and Kanegafuchi Number 63 from the series 100 Famous Views of Edo Date: originally published 7/1857, this published by Hasegawa c. 1920, listed as number #316 in the 1930 Hasegawa catalog Size: oban, approx. 10.5" x 15.5" Condition: Very Good, no flaws, on time toned older paper Impression: Fine, unusual variant edition with mountains added to the background and the tree removed from the left foreground. Other elements such as the full moon have also been added, but the basic foreground and middle ground landscape, as well as the man poling his raft remain the same. Compare the the Brooklyn set #63.
