The title cartouche at upper left in the shape of a curling piece of paper; the series title in the yellow 'curling' section, Showa bijo sugata kurabe, the print title in the 'flat' section, Harumachi-zuki, Yukizora. Signed at left, Ikuharu hitsu with red maple leaf-shaped seal. Publisher unknown, ca. mid-1920-30's.

渡辺幾春 watanabe ikuharu
明治28年（１８９５）～昭和50年（１９７５）
明治二十八年、名古屋市西区江川端町に生まる。九歳で名古屋の日本画家水谷芳年に絵を学ぶ。明治四十三年、名古屋市立第一高等小学校卒業後、京都に出て山本春挙に師事。大正七年、第12回文展に《百日紅》が初入選。大正11年、京都市立絵画専門学校別科に入学する。大正十四年卒業後、名古屋市中区に居を移し、名古屋在住の朝見香城、喜多村麦子、織田杏逸らと当地方の日本画の革新を求めて中京美術院を創設。昭和九年、三十九歳で東京に転居の後も、文展に入選するなど実力を発揮する。昭和二十七年、名古屋市千種区徳川山町三丁目に居を移す。中京画壇を代表する日本画家。 |
