RIVER SCENE WITH BOATS: WATERCOLOR BY SHUMIN (1800'S) PAINTED IN EARLY 1900'S. THATS ALL THE INFO I COULD FIND ON VARIOUS AUCTION SITES THAT LIST HIS WORK. NICE FRAME BUT SHOWING AGE. DISCOLORATIONS ON FABRIC INSET.

Artist Bio: 
Shumin Ota (1884 – 15 May 1950) was a Japanese painter. His work was part of the painting event in the art competition at the 1936 Summer Olympics [from Wiki]. May have travelled or emigrated to Canada, because watercolour scenes of Canada exist.
