Original Takeuchi Seiho (1864 - 1942) Japanese Woodblock Print
Pears and Verse, about 1938 - 1940

Comments - Simple Zen painting design of two pears outlined in brushy strokes, with a verse in calligraphy along the right. This design was published by Unsodo in Kyoto between 1938 and 1940. The blocks were moved to Tokyo and destroyed by bombing during WWII, so very few prints of this pre-war design exist.

Artist - Takeuchi Seiho (1864 - 1942)
Image Size - 14 3/8" x 18 3/4"
Condition - With excellent color and detail. A few offsetting marks in subject. Crease at upper left. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
