TORRI AT MIYAJIMA
BY NOTED JAPANESE WOODBLOCK ARTIST YOKOUCHI GINNOSUKE, (1870-1942)

A SUPERLATIVE RICH WATERCOLOR WITH EXCELLENT DESIGN AND GESTURE. THE VIEW IS CONTRARY TO THE TYPICAL SCENE WITH THE VIEWPOINT BEING FROM THE WATER TO THE SHORE. IT IS LOW TIDE AND VISITORS ARE TRAVERSING THE MUCK TO SEE THE SHRINE. A LARGE WATERCOLOR THAT IS IN VERY FINE FRESH UNFADED CONDITION. MEASURES 19 1/2 13 INCHES. THE FRAME IS VINTAGE AND POSSIBLY CONTEMPORY WITH THE WATERCOLOR
