Rare Oban Design

Artist: Harunobu
Format: Oban tate-e: 13.75" x 10"

Subject: A bijin with her young man protecting her from a shower of rain as she examines a toy boat.

A particularly rare and fine Harunobu design.

Date: 1760's

Condition: Laid down. Damages and restorations, notably at top edge. Overall light wear and creases. Moderate state.

Colour: Exceptionally well preserved for a print from the early period.

Impression: Very fine with gauffrage.


Estimated Value: £4000 - £6000
