	Notes (this edition)?:	The following information was taken from the original web listing of this artwork. Note that there may be some inaccuracies: Monday, 21 April 2008 YUKIO KATSUDA!! Signed and dated 1967, by Japanese artist Yukio Katsuda, this is a beautiful Serigraph (Silk Screen) of a rose. This work is number 1 of 43 limited edition and is simply titled 'No. 21'. The signature, number, and characters are done in pencil. Written in light pencil on the back (lower right side) is: K8/R40. I have no idea what that means, sorry. This piece measures 14" x 18" and is done on a fairly heavy paper. The size of the actual silk screen is 11 1/2" x 15 1/2". The condition is excellent! I have included some Very close photos so you can see just how much texture there is. The texture is so defined that to the touch it almost feels like beadwork!
	Artist Bio:	勝田幸男 １９４１年京都市内で生まれ、幼少より今日まで嵯峨で生活。 今日、粒画《登録商標》と称する絵画を制作するに至った経過を略記する。 ８歳か９歳の頃 池の側を歩いていた時、将来自らが創りだした何かを人様に見ていただくというイメージ、インスピレーションを得た。 １４歳の頃 西宮市仁川の丘で、目に見えないこの空間に、果てしなくつながるこの空間に大切なものがあると言う意識が心にまるで印画紙に焼きつくように焼きついた。 １８歳の頃 自分のみが通る道とした、進路決定のイメージ・インスピレーションを得た。 美大時代 京都市立美術大学（現京都市立芸術大学）日本画科へ進学。 その心の内は、１４歳のときに得た意識、それへの探求が中心をなしていた。 日本画を学びながら、心の内と現実での実践生活、その歩みより、限りなく心に素直に忠実にという生活を目指した。 この目に見えない空間にある大切なもの、それはミクロの世界で粒になると考え、絵を介しての心の探求の原点とした。 卒業後 現実を素直に見つめ、足を地にしっかりとつけて、自分なりの絵画制作を目指していくことになり、絵の具に関しても、協力者を得て具体化していった。 教育職には１６年ほどお世話になった。 ４０代初めにはフリーとなり、その後は作家生活に徹している。 今日 自宅での制作活動、個展展開、それが生活の両翼をなしている。制作活動という心の純化・昇華作業を一作一作に求め、次の次元、光り輝く世界（私に意識させた世界）へとつなげている。 子供の頃よりの序奏は、仁川の丘で宇宙に遍満する意識に目覚めさせ、今世を生きる機軸を得させ、次の肉体を去りし世界、本来の意識体として往き行くところを目指させている。 各地の個展会場において 絵から発するものはさておき、具体面よりは絵の雰囲気は岩絵の具で描いた日本画のよう、絵肌のてり、きらめきより油絵のよう、各所の表現より版画のよう、細かい線描より刺繍のよう、粒子の織りなす綾より織りのようとも。
