Japanese Modern Prints, Kawano Kaoru
(lot of 2) Unframed Japanese modern woodblock prints, by Kawano Kaoru (1916-1965), the first of a landscape with a pagoda tower sihouetted in the distance, pencil signed LL, with one seal 'Kaoru', the second of a young girl seated with a small blue bird in her hands, pencil signed LR, with one seal (second with tape residue to top reverse corners, otherwise excellent/very good condition), 16.75''h x 11-11.25''w

Artist Bio: 
Kaoru Kawano was a very popular artist for his distinctively styled depictions of figures, especially children. He uses the wood grain patterns to lender the textures and the mood to the works.
