Kakemono-e: Standing Courtesan

Artist: Katsukawa Shunsen
Format: Kakemono-e: vertical diptych: each sheet 14.5" x 10" approx

Subject: An impressive early vertical diptych, by the bijin master Shunsen.

Date: c.1810

Condition: Full size. The two sheets pasted together. Some creases. Some wormage at top (repaired). Stained and darkened at bottom edge. Minor soils, marks and flaws. Generally fair state.

Colour: Some fading

Impression: Fine with gauffrage.
