Japanese Watercolor Painting - TERAUCHI, FUKUTARO
_________________________________

TERAUCHI, FUKUTARO is a well known Japanese watercolorist from the Showa period. This is an original signed watercolor painting. I'm not sure of exact age of this painting except to say that it is post WWII, probably the 1950's or 60's. Outer frame dimensions are approx. 16" by 12 5/8". Exposed art is approx. 11 1/4" by 7 3/4". As you can see, the left inch or so of the painting is lighter than the rest. I'm not sure if this is from fade or the remainder has darkened some. There is a little darkened spot (foxing?) on the water (see photo) and a couple more larger but more diffused spots in the sky. Other than that it's in excellent condition. It's nicely framed with the frame having some moderate surface wear. It's still very presentable.

Artist Bio:
Prolific watercolour artist whose works are often mis-attributed to the more famous Terauchi Manjiro. See my research note on this artist here
