Wonderful Antique C1910 Painting Japanese Landscape - Tasuke ( G.T. ) Yokouchi
Well-listed Japanese watercolorist Tasuke Yokouchi

A superb signed work from Tasuke (G.T.) Yokouchi, circa 1910 or so, done in watercolor and presented in matte, framed and under glass. The signature is found at lower left, and the work depicts a landscape, wonderfully done and beautifully preserved. Tasuke Yokouchi (also known as GT Yokouchi), was an artist of renown talent who toiled during the early part of the 20th century, an artist with a flair for detail and color, and whose paintings show a bit of Western flair - the brush stylings are similar to American and European works; this apparently was a trademark of our friend Yokouchi. Again, the painting is in very good condition with modest crackling to the gilded and textured wood frame. The work measures 6" X 18", and the frame is 11 5/8" X 23 3/4".

Age: Circa 1910
Region of Origin: Japan
