Being offered is this large and wonderful original watercolor by Japanese listed artist Janse Tabuchi! The painting is signed lower right, J. Tabuchi NIKKO. The piece is beautifully mounted in a wide, mitered mahogany frame with black lacquer and gilt border decoration (minor separation to corner of frame, lower right). The painting is framed under glass with a black lacquer liner, on top of the glass. The painting is of the Temple at Nikko. The Temple is situated between two rows of enormous trees. Visitors are dwarfed by the grand stone steps rising up to the Temple. Tabuchi's mastery of working in watercolor shines in his execution of this painting! Much effort was devoted to developing painting's composition and the effect which light plays upon the various surface planes. The painting is rendered with the greatest skill. His deft hand has cast shadows flawlessly; he has achieved rich, contrasting color; the painting has a near-photographic quality!

DIMENSIONS: Line of sight: 19" high x 12" wide. Framed: 27" x 20 1/2".

CONDITION: The watercolor has an area of foxing in the sky and also by the signature (minor). For reference please view the many photos.
